A Striking Claim from Senator Lummis about Bitcoin and the US Army!

United States Senator Cynthia Lummis made a striking statement in an interview with Bloomberg, saying that the U.S. military has supported a strategic acquisition plan of 1 million Bitcoin.

Lummis stated that the US is in an economic war with China, arguing that digital assets can play a strategic role in this war.

“Weapons, bullets, drones, planes… Yes, all of them are necessary. But economic warfare is serious too. And we need to be prepared for that as well,” Lummis said, expressing that Bitcoin should be a part of this preparation.

The senator stated that some US generals in Southeast Asia believe that there should be a strategic Bitcoin reserve. Lummis said, “When you look at the leadership of today’s US military, you can find support for the idea of a Bitcoin reserve.”

However, Lummis’s statements have also rekindled discussions about whether there is a conflict of interest in her political decisions. Questions are being raised in the public about whether her son-in-law Will Cole, a Bitcoin maximalist, is influencing the Senator’s cryptocurrency policies.

These discussions were further highlighted by a statement by Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse on May 19. In a post on Twitter( under the name X )eski, Garlinghouse said that Lummis canceled a meeting and refused to reschedule, adding, “As a leader in Congress and a senator from the crypto-friendly state of Wyoming, I hope you show leadership on behalf of the entire crypto industry.”
