Due to government energy subsidies, Japan's inflation slowed down in February.
On March 21, Jin10 Data reported that consumer inflation in Japan slowed down in February due to the Japanese government reintroducing energy subsidies, but it still remains far above the Bank of Japan’s 2% target. The overall CPI in February rose by 3.7% year-on-year, down from a 4.0% increase in January. Although food prices continue to rise, government subsidies for water and electricity bills have eased some of the pressure on consumer prices.
