Apple Commits $1.5B to Broadcom Chip Deal; $30B+ Agreement Runs Through 2031

Apple announced on Wednesday new details of its chip supply agreement with Broadcom (AVGO), which is expected to exceed $30 billion and will support production of more than 15 billion chips in the U.S. The agreement includes a $1.5 billion investment to upgrade Broadcom's manufacturing facility in Fort Collins, Colorado, where the company will produce advanced radio-frequency components including FBAR filters and wireless connectivity technologies. Broadcom disclosed in an SEC filing that the agreement will run through 2031. Apple stated the investment is part of its $600 billion commitment to the U.S. economy over four years, supporting manufacturing, job creation, and technology development.
