According to Bloomberg, Patrick McHenry, former House Financial Services Committee chairman, said the CLARITY Act's passage is "a question of when, not if." McHenry, who shepherded the bill through the House in 2025, made the statement in a recent interview.
The Senate Banking Committee advanced the Digital Asset Market CLARITY Act 15-9 on May 14, with bipartisan support. However, Senate Majority Leader John Thune said this week the bill is likely to miss its window before the August recess, though he hopes to "at least get Clarity started" on the floor before lawmakers leave town.
