South Korea Introduces Managed Benefits for Physical Therapy from July 1, Capping Annual Sessions at 15

According to Yonhap Infomax, South Korea's government introduced a managed benefits framework for physical therapy (도수치료) effective July 1, 2026. Patients will pay 95% out-of-pocket at a standardized rate of ₩43,850 per session, with annual health insurance coverage limited to 15 sessions. The measure aims to address overutilization and pricing inconsistencies that previously ranged from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of won across providers.
