South Korea's IPO Market Contracts by 50% in H1 2026; Public Equity Funds See Two-Month Outflows

According to Shinhan Securities' analysis of Korea Exchange and FnGuide data released on July 23, the number of companies listed on the KOSPI (South Korea's main equity market) in the first half of 2026 fell to less than half the level of the previous year. The absence of major IPOs led to a roughly 50% decline in total fundraising. Meanwhile, public equity funds tracking IPOs saw investor withdrawals for two consecutive months as newly listed stocks underperformed.
