South Korea's KOSPI Closes Down 300 Points from Session High Despite Foreign Investor Net Buying of 2.63 Trillion Won on July 22

According to Financial News, KOSPI closed up 49.75 points (0.74%) at 6,797.70 on July 22, despite surging past 7,100 intraday and triggering buy-side circuit breaker for the 20th time this year. Foreign investors net bought 2.63 trillion won, but domestic institutions and retail investors sold 2.61 trillion won combined, offsetting gains and dragging the index down more than 300 points from session highs. Semiconductor stocks Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, which rose up to 6.6% and 9.3% respectively intraday, gave back most gains, closing up just 0.6% and down 0.3%.
